Photo Shoot

I have been wanting some pictures of Nick with a white background for quite sometime. Unfortunately, I cannot afford them right now. So I decided to take a few of my own.

 So the next day I made a tent for him. I tacked the sheet to the wall and then another sheet over it. He hid in it just long enough for me to take this one:

 Then it was play time:

 So I moved it upstairs, thinking that if I let him watch a cartoon, he would eventually sit down quietly. So I waited....

 and waited...

 and waited.

And then... 4 m&m's and 1 Star Wars Cartoon later I managed to get some good pictures:

Not sure if they are "hang on the wall" worthy, but I now have some new pictures of Nick and a wonderful memory.

Rodney Atkins and His Hat

 

I was having one of those days today. You know, the kind of day when you just want to lay around and catch up on all your tv shows.  But yesterday I told my friend Suzi that I would go to a Rodney Atkins concert with her tonight. The concert was at Club Rodeo and Rodney Atkins was playing FOR FREE. Hard to pass up. Right? I also failed to tell you that I was having a "fat" day and the last thing I wanted to do was to squeeze into a pair of jeans and try to feel good about myself. She talked me into going though, being the good friend that she is. And we had a blast. At the end of the concert he threw his hat at me and Suzi! So that night turned out to be pretty good and ofcourse now I can't sleep!

A Prayer of Thanksgiving

Father,
Thank you for always being beside us. With all the struggles we face it helps knowing you are there to guide us. It helps that we can turn to you and look to you for answers. Thank you for the life you have for us and for continuously blessing us each day. Thank you for Chris for his health and happiness, Thank you for the loving husband and father he is each and every day. Thank you for Nicholas and his health and happiness, for his continued growth and strength. Thank you father for a sound mind and peaceful rest each night and for the energy and playfulness during the day. Thank you for Payton and for Hank, they bring so much happiness to our lives. Thank you for our home, and our jobs, the food we have and the clean water we have. Thank you for my family and Chris' family. For their health, happiness and that you can bless their lives and meet their needs. Thank you for Cynthia and Ethan and for the impact they have had on Nicholas these past couple of months and that Ethan can adjust to days without his friend to play with on a daily basis. Thank you for safe travel for family and friends during the holidays.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to Cox Farms on Saturday to visit the pumpkin patch with David, Cynthia and Ethan.

 

The "petting zoo" that is what they called it anyway.

Nick found the maze.

He stayed inside the tunnel for a long time.

I finally convinced him to come out

Then he went on the cow ride!

and like the fish ride...he didn't want to get off. So worth the tears though when you see him smile from ear to ear during the ride.

I even talked Chris into getting a picture taken in one of these!
