What we brought home from the CASINO!!!!!

That's right.......NOTHING!!!!
It's a good thing we already bought each other gifts!!!
If you have been keeping up with my blog you know that I have become quite the project girl. I have been talking about taking up sewing and Chris got me a sewing machine!




And if you know my husband (which I know you all do) you know that he collects Star Wars.
He has been into the 12" scales lately and has wanted this guy for quite sometime I got him 2.
Why he would want dolls that looks like a pig is beyond me :-) JP-you get it !!!!

Celebrating Our 2 Year Anniversary

Chris and I are celebrating our 2 year anniversary tonight!
Neither of us can believe it has been 2 years since we were married let alone 5 years since we met!
We had a simple ceremony on January 28th 2009 and then off to Breckinridge CO.
We stayed in a beautiful condo with 3 other couples-Scott and his wife Suzanne, Kevin and his wife Sherry and Steve (scott's cousin) and girlfriend Rian. Chris and I spent time alone while everyone else went skiing (something chris and I have no interest in) and then we had great dinners with our friends each night!













Tonight Chris and I are going to the casino in Oklahoma. We usually have dinner at the Scotch and Sirloin for special occasions but we decided tonight instead of spending the $ on food-we would see if we could double our money!!!! I am pretty excited about it. 1 hour road trip there and back is great time we don't get very often!!!!
I can honestly say that these past 2 years (really 5) have been the best years of my life so far!
Chris is the greatest guy I could have ever asked for and I am truly blessed!!!

Wing Upholstered Bed

I definately would like to do a wing upholstered bed. I follow a blog named "you paid more than me" and she reupholsters furniture. What caught my eye was the wingback chairs and settes she has redone and then I saw the wing upholstered headboards she posted. BEAUTIFUL. I have a design plan on how to make one. I just need to pick the color of fabric I want for the headboard.
I am going to paint the walls a linen-beige color-similar to the walls in the photos.
I have an off-white bedspread and pillows-so I would just need to add some throw pillows which shouldn't be that expensive.
I love them all-but which would be best for my room? I will have to study these for awhile.

I really like this one. Not only do I get to see what it looks like with a king size bed but the bedspread is very similar to mine and the tables would be a very close finish to what I would have. (cameron diaz's room in "Holiday")

Suggestions Please

Chris said I can redo the master and get new furniture if I come up with the money to do so. Right now I have a budget of $100.00 from my craiglist sales-LOVE IT I get rid of things around the house for $$$$. My sister in law, Stephanie (she is the best) has sent me another link-this time "how to create your own headboard" I plan to do this. I just need to pick out the best fabric-that I won't change my mind on once I get it put on!!!!

I think this is more than reasonable for my budget. Considering the wall color is similar and this is about how much room I have. JUST ONE SMALL PROBLEM.


PROBLEM: The picture above has white trim.
We have honey oak trim and Chris HATES the idea of "white" furniture with oak trim in our room, I HATE the idea of "dark" furniture with oak trim in our room. Neither of us like black furniture with oak trim in our room. My solution-paint our trim white!!!! Chris says ABSOLUTELY NOT!
So as you can see I am in a bit of a delima when it comes to re-doing my Master Bedroom. This is what it is now-except that I sold that dark table on craigslist last night so it is even more empty.

This year I would like to finish a few things I have been wanting to do around the house.

-new house numbers-2 of our #'s are black and the other is sivler(our numbers are turning silver b/c of the sun)

-new fabric for my dining room chairs

-new bench or a slip cover for the one we have (it is in front of our living room window and it is for the dogs to sit on-so nothing too expensive.

-bronze door knobs

-bronze faucets

-new kitchen sink and faucet

-storm door

-new carpet

-new furniture for our bedroom

What we have done so far:

We have new house numbers in bronze!!!
With my mother in laws help we recovered my dining room chairs and found a new bench for the dogs (that goes well with my living room).
We are getting a storm door put up today and my sister in law sent me a website that shows you how to turn your door knobs into the finish that you want. So I can have bronze door knobs for only....wait for it........................$8.00. Yes. $8.00 I am also going to try to finish the faucets with the same instructions b/c as she pointed out-"what is the worst that could happen-you HAVE to buy new ones?"

so all that is left is:

-New carpet

-Bedroom furniture

-New kitchen sink and faucet

Sunday January 9th Nick's First Snow Storm

Nicholas witnessed his first snow storm on Sunday January 9th-One day before his 3 month birthday!!! When there was quite a bit of snow on the ground I took him towards the window-he looked outside and then looked at me and smiled! It must have made him happy! I really wanted to bundle him up in his snow suit and take pictures of him and his first snow but we never made it outside (too cold) so I bundled him up and took this picture to document the special snow day!
