Chris Kochert "Kochert" (a friend of Chris') came by last night.
He was in Chicago last week and brought over a baby outfit of.....you guessed it-Chicago Bears!!!! He also brought a Chicago Bears shirt back for Chris and being the creative boys they are-they thought it would be a good idea to take a picture of Nick with these Chicago Bears shirts!

Good Night Nick!
I just put Nick to bed (in his own crib for the 3rd night in a row)
Last night he slept from 11-4 and then back to sleep from 5-9 all in his own baby crib. I got a lot of rest as well. The 1st night I was so worried about every grunt and squeek that came out of him that I didn't get too much sleep and this morning I ran to his room because I hadn't heard him all night! We will see if he sleeps through tonight!

Back To Work
Yesterday was my 1st official day back to work since Nicholas was born. (I went in last week to rearrange the schedule and get patients rescheduled according to the new hours). I thought I would dread going back but I don't. I probably would if I was putting Nick in daycare for a full day but he is going to a very nice woman named Alice 3 days a week and only from 9-1. The rest of the time Chris will be taking care of him and on Tuesdays and Thursdays I get him. It is nice to have something to do during the day to help stimulate my brain. My boss and his wife had their 2nd little baby boy on the 16th so I that is why I came back a week early-she had taken my place while I was gone and since Tate (the new baby) was born 2 months early-I wanted to help out as much as I could-the clinic was the last thing they should be worried about! I love working where I work and love that they feel they can count on me!
So since next week is the week that patients will be back on schedule and since it will be December next week....I am going to DECORATE THE OFFICE FOR CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!
I love seeing all the patients faces when they see all the Nutcrackers I have on display-mostly children but the adults are always amazed too!

Lets Play!
Nick has been seeing a lot clearly these day.
When Chris comes home from work and talks to him Nick will look right at Chris and when Chris walks across the room-Nick doesn't take his eyes off him for one second!!! So I decided it was time for him to look at some toys that will keep him occupied in the next few weeks or... months!

Sweet Dreams Update
Nick slept in his own room for 4 hours!!!!
I had to get him at 1 to feed him and when I put him back to bed he wouldn't stop crying so I brought him back into our room (because the letting him cry technique was not working for me)
4 hours is a start though!!!! Plus we got to sleep in until 10 today!!!

Sweet Dreams
Nicholas is sleeping in his room for the 1st time tonight! It is so hard not to worry about him and not to check on him every few minutes. We will see if I get any sleep or better yet-if he gets any sleep tonight!

2 years ago today Chris and I closed on our house! 4 weeks ago today Nicholas was born! We have a lot of celebrating to do!

Positive vs. Negative Thinking
A LONG time ago I started to study the effects of negative thinking vs. positive thinking. I even started writing a book about it. At the beginning of this study I was pretty sad and heartbroken. After all my energy thinking positively my life began to change for the better. Some where along the way though I started letting negative thinking and people talking to me about negative situations they were going through that I started becoming a very negative person. I had a conversation with 2 people today and when I hung up the phone I wanted to call another and talk about it all over again. Do you know how exhausting it is to think negatively ALL THE TIME?
So I am going to say a few prayers tonight, study the bible and some positive thinking and go to bed! I have toooooooooo much to be thankful for! Right now is the rest of my life and I am going to live it in a good mood....I may even finish my book!!!

Date Night
Last night Chris took me on a date! I managed to actually leave Nicholas at Nana Nita's house and we went to Chili's!
Chili's is where we had our very 1st date so it seemed approiate to have our first date night after the baby at the same place!
The night was wonderful-the service not so great! It took 20 minutes to get our drinks (i mean we literaly got our food before our drinks came)and then when Chris ordered another drink it took another 20 minutes plus it was only 3/4 full (when this is a beer that costs 3 or more dollars it is a big deal) When we asked for the manager it took her 20 minutes to get to our table and when she finally did come-she asked "what is the problem is the beer flat"
I am thinking "I know it looks like he took a drink already but NO this is how full it was when we got it" so then I thought "no we are just ready to leave after waiting 20 minutes for our drinks TWICE and now 20 minutes for you and we don't want to pay for this beer." But instead I just said-Our server was great but when it takes your bartender 20 minutes to get a draft beer out more than once and your meal arrives before you can get a drink and your meal is halfway finished when you order another and it doesn't show up until you are ready to leave it is ridiculous." She took the beers off our tab and we now have a story to tell about our first night out after the baby!!!! :-)
After that we went to Larry Bud's (which used to be Tanners) Where we first met!!!
The night was great!
And Nicholas had a great time with Nana Nita and her friends!!!!!
(I guess it is safe to leave him again sometime)
