The 411 on Nick

There is one thing going on with Nicholas that has me a little worried. He has had a double ear infection for 4 weeks now. We have been through 2 rounds of antibiotics with no sign of relief. His dr says we may have to see and ENT Spec. and perhaps have tubes put in his ears. If that happens I will be okay with it. I just hope it doesn't have to happen! As you can see in the video from my last post he seems very happy and healthy! Well that is the truth but the antibiotic he is on right now has he opposite effect of the amoxicillan. It makes him HYPER! I can't even tell you the last time Chris or I had a full nights rest. He sleeps for a maybe 2 hours at a time. Ofcourse who could blame him. His ears hurt so he can't sleep flat, but his lamb chair that fits and infant :-) is too small for him to sleep in for a full night and I am too short for him to sleep on me. I am praying this will clear up and or the ear tubes will help tremendously. On the up side of things:

Nicholas has learned so much since I have started staying at home. I am not sure if it is me or just the fact that at his age this is what kids do or say or know, but I am taking the credit anyway.

I have been reading him books since the day Chris and I brought him home. He LOVES books and will bring me one right after another. Sometimes he will want me to read the same book 3-4 times. When that happens I usually will read it the 1st time and the 2nd, 3rd/4th time I will read the book but ask him questions on each page. Such as, "Can you show me where a duck is?" or "what does a cow say?" He is really catching on. If I say a line in a book that he hasn't brought me yet he will go get "that" book. He says "mama", "dada", "See", "Huh", "Uh-Oh", "Ducky", "Doggy", "Moo", and my personal favorite "truck" (though this one he says like "KHA-TA") But since I am his mommy I know what it means!

I know he has been watching me and Chris too because he has started putting his cups on coasters and bringing the dogs their collars in the morning. He even tries to put the collars on Payton and Hank and to top that he knows whose collar is whose.

Chris has apparantly been teaching him the star wars cast too. Nicholas can point to Captain Rex, Jabba the Hut, Boba Fet.... and well, that is all I can name.

He is learning to go down the stairs now which is very scary for me. I want him to learn but then that is all he wants to do. Climb the stairs, Go down the stairs, Climb the stairs, Go down the stairs! He is very much a handful these days but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Breakfast Time

Breakfast Time! Nicholas has started eating with forks and spoons. He drinks from a sippy cup-no more bottle and atleast twice a day he will drink from a cup without a lid. This is him enjoying a nice breakfast and laughing at the dogs who are barking at the school kids as they go to the bus!

My Grandpa

When my dad and I went to meet Ethan last week we all started talking about some of his features. Ethan has a chin dimple and when he was born they were trying to decide who he got that trait from. My Aunt brought over pictures of my grandpa and lo and behold he had one too!
As I was looking through the old pictures I realized how much I missed my grandpa. I am sure my mom and aunt think about him several times a week if not daily but I hadn't thought about him in such a long time.
My brother was very close to my grandpa and my sisters and I spent so much time with both my grandma and grandpa. We have so many memories! I am so thankful we had the chance to spend so much time with them. I just wanted to take a minute to remember him. I love you Grandpa and I miss you very much!

Wooo Wheee Look At Those Teeth

Nicholas has had his 2 bottom teeth since his birthday. His two front teeth started coming in around Thanksgiving and now he is getting a tooth on either side of his two front teeth!!! I have been trying to get a picture of his teeth for quite sometime! I finally did today during his LAUGHING Spell!!

I only had 3 opportunities to exercise and guess what.....I used all 3!
Now if I can do it atleast once tomorrow!

You Have To....Tomorrow

Beginning Memorial Weekend last year I started walking/running every single day. Even in the very hot days of the summer. I started out not being able to run from one driveway to the next (as embarrassing as it is to admit) but by September I could run 2 miles without stopping-and I did in the Greater Andover Days Fun Run!
Then came October and I just stopped. I am so mad at myself for stopping b/c it hasn't even been that bad of weather (and even it had been I have treadmill downstairs) I lost quite a bit of weight and if I would have stuck with it I could be the size I want to be by now..Grrr!

Well, there no use in being upset anymore. It is time to get off my butt and do something about it! This March I am entering into a 5k run-I need to start training!
I will begin tomorrow!
Just thought I would tell the world-maybe this way I will be too embarrassed to quit!
