Dirt and Worms

We went to Chris' uncles for a bbq yesterday. Chris' cousin has a little boy, Landon who is 3 and he LOVES to play with worms. He introduced these little guys to Nicholas who shares the same fascination. I think I did a pretty good job of not getting freaked out. I can handle worms but frogs...that's another story!

Sister Time in Texas

Look at this pretty girl. Does she look like she could be my mom?

I went to see my sister over the weekend. The first morning we went to run some errands.
1st stop: Get her oil changed. When we were about ready to leave we overheard two of the employees talking.
One of them finally said: Are you guys sisters?
We said "yeah"
The other said "oh, I didn't know if you you guys were mom and daughter."
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? is what I thought with laughter in my head! Then I paused, "wait, which one of us would be the mom then?"
We determined ourselves, they must have been talking about Alison! LOL!
That night we ate dinner at Meddlesome Moth. We ofcourse were offered free appetizers because we are the BOMB! For dinner we had the Shrimp and Grits, which were AMAZING! Then off to the Old Monk for some drinks and that is where the real fun happens. I notice these guys looking at us from the other side of the bar and I am thinking to myself "oh great"
Then they come over to our table. He says: "I know my shirt is wrinkled but can I please sit down?" Alison says: "don't be so insecure, you can stand right there.
Then his friend comes over and he has a hat on that looks very similar to my husbands Bears hat.
So I look at it and say: "are you a cubs fan?"
He says yes and sits down. UGH! That is why I don't talk!
Alison and I thought he looked like Ed from the Lion King...."and man was he UGLY"

We had so much fun shopping and driving around listening to music too! I love my sister time!

Nick and his cousins

Chris and his friend Scott have a golf tournament every year for their birthdays! It is called the Scotch and Chaka Tournament. Andy always comes in for it and he usually brings Tatum and Ashlyn with him! Nick loves his cousins. He followed Ashlyn around ALL DAY! Tatum took him for a ride in the car and then she taught him how to use his feet to push himself! They are both so great with him! I love my nieces!

19 Months

Holy Cow! My little boy is 19 months old today! I know I ask this all the time but, WHERE DID THE TIME GO? Within the last 2 weeks I have noticed he has grown taller. He is climbing on all the furniture and jumping off just to climb up again! It reminds me of a game my sister and I would play called Pete and Repeat! We would sit on the banaster and we would say "Pete and Repeat sat on a wall, Pete fell off (one of us would jump off and run back to get on the banaster again) and who was left? Repeat." and we would do it over and over again-Makes me laugh! Last night he did two things that I had never seen him to do before: 1.) He accidently peed in his potty chair! When I say accidently, I mean he was getting ready to take a bath and he was standing by the tub until I was ready to put him in it and he evidently had to pee. He was standing pretty far away from it but it made it in and played the music it plays when something goes in the potty! He looked at me and smiled! I am sure we are no where near potty training, but now he knows what happens when he goes potty AND I ofcourse gave him a sticker for it! 2.) He was all tucked into bed and I went in there to check on him as I always do before I go to bed. He got up immediately, pointed to a book (a tugboat book that he loves) and said "toot toot" toot toot" so I read it to him and he helped me out when it was time to "toot toot".

We finished Nick's new room! Thought the quote above his bed was perfect since he basically is a Star Wars fan like his father! We have the Captain Rex decal on the right side of his bed and the framed coloring pictures to the left are from Chris' and Andy's coloring books when they were little boys. We picked out the pictures that had little color on them to add just a hint of color to the room and yes those are star wars sheets.

The rocking chair and dresser were also Chris' when he was little, I just painted the dresser blue to add a little more color to his room! My favorite thing though are the book ledges we made (my first pinterest project)

The porcelein figures and the blocks, once again, were Chris' when he was little.

We also have an R2D2 lightswitch cover! I LOVE this room. I love the pops of color off the beige walls. So much better than the lime green walls he had before!

Circle Foundation 5K

Yes, I ran another 5K. This one was a bit harder because the weather was much colder and it was very hard to run and breathe in the cold air. I must be doing something right though because I shaved 3 minutes off my time from March. I ran the St Patty's day 5K in 36 minutes. My goal going into this 5K was 35 mintues. My actual time: 33:38
