We are a month away from Nicholas turning 2. This past year has been the best having the opportunity to stay home with him. He has learned so much so fast.
These are all the things that have happened in the past couple of weeks that have stuck out to me:
Last week he took his R2D2 figure and sat him on his potty chair and said "R2 go potty?" I am hoping he will go potty in the chair sometime soon-now that we know he gets the concept!
A couple of days ago we were watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, as we do every morning at 7:00. There is a part in the show where they need a tool to help them with a project in the show. Mickey will say something like "Who do we call when we need a mouskatool?" and the repsonse is "ooooh tootles". Nicholas said "OOOH TOOTLES" when Mickey asked that question. I looked at him surprised and said "NICK YOU ARE SOOO SMART" He looked back and me and smiled-looking so proud of himself and then said..."Thank you"
When Nicholas wants something Chris and I make him say "please" first and when it is handed to him we make him say "thank you" and after he does we respond with "you're welcome"
Now when we hand him something we say "what do you say?" and he says "you're welcome."
We say.."no, thank you" and he responds with "you're welcome" until he gets it right! I have to say though it sounds soooo cute when he says "you're welcome"
He says "bless you" after I sneeze.
Nicholas also had a taco last weekend. Now everytime we go to the bank or pull up to a store he says..."I'll have a taco"
In the morning when we wake up the first thing we do is say "good morning" to Payton and Hank. Nicholas goes to Hank first and says " Hi Hank, Hi Hank" and will pet him for I swear 3-4 minutes and then goes up to Payton and says "Hi TATON, Hi TATON" and will pet him for 3-4 minutes.
Those are just a few instances from the past couple of weeks. I could go on and on and on-he amazes me every day!
