To: My Amazing Family-I am so blessed to have you!

I was looking through some pictures that my older sister Katie has on facebook.

I saw some pictures I hadn't seen before and it made me want to tell everyone that I have the best family in the ENTIRE WORLD!
For those of you who do not know my family-Here are a couple of pictures of them!

My sisters were in town one weekend and we thought it would be fun to all go out to eat at the Anchor Inn in Hutchinson. I had been craving it for awhile and since I was pregnant I had the best excuse to travel 30 minutes to eat it!!!!
Alison and I were hanging out earlier that day and I told her to call my Aunt Susan and ask her if she and the boys wanted to meet us there along with my mom, Rex and my grandma. Alison said she would later but I insisted she call her right then-I even dialed Susan's number myself and gave Alison the phone to talk to her.

Later that evening-I (being a typical pregnant woman-and....well lets face it-a typical Amy) decided that I didn't want to go afterall. Chris then said-"we have to go...how often are your sisters in town?" so off we went!!!

We get to the Anchor Inn and order our favorite foods. My cousins David and Michael were there, my Grandma, Aunt Susan, Mom, Rex, and sisters Katie and Alison. After we were all through eating my sister Katie says:
"I really want some icecream does anyone else want icecream?"
Aunt Susan-" I have icecream at my house. Do you all want to come over there?"
Chris-"Do you want icecream Amy?"
Me-"Not really but if you want some we can just hit Dairy Queen on the way home."
Chris-"How often do you get to see your sisters lets just go over to your Aunts."
Me-"Okay"

When we get to the car I tell Chris the quickest way to get to my Aunts. Does he go that way??????-NO!!!!
When we finally do get there I tell him he can park in the drive way. Does he? NO!!!!
So we are the last ones in the house. I walk in and everyone is in there staring at me and says "SUPRISE!!!!" I think to myself "ha ha I am the last one here, I know" I then walk closer into the house and notice the table full of baby stuff!!!! My sisters called everyone and they planned a suprise baby shower for me!!!! I immediately started crying. It was so touching and made me feel so blessed to have the family that I have. My sisters made a huge diaper cake and got me so many baby clothes aswell and my Aunt, Cousins and Grandma. My mom and Rex and my Dad all got me the BIG item-my stroller/carseat combo!!!
(pictures are a little blurry)

Thank you for always being there for me!
Love you guys!

Inspiration

There are times that I wonder "is he really listening?" "Is God even real?"
I know that he is but sometimes I feel that I pray and pray for something and the complete opposite happens. Why is that? "Did he answer my prayer and has another way of "helping" the situation or did the advesary answer my prayer instead?"
It is hard to explain "believing" or "having faith" when we were little my mom used to explain it like this:

Mom-"If you had a flat tire on your bicycle and you asked Grandpa if he could fix it....you would give your bike to him right?.....you would trust that he would fix it b/c he said he would right? and you wouldn't give it a second thought right?"

Me- "yes."

Mom-"Well, when you ask God for something then you need to "give" him that problem and trust that he will fix it...you need to let it go and let him handle it. If you don't give your bike to Grandpa then he can't fix it and if you don't give your problem to God then he won't be able to fix it either."

I have read these scriptures over the past few months and have thought a lot about them. I know that everything is going to be okay in my life and in the lives of my family members. I just thought I would share them with everyone else too.

“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress. For we don’t even know what we should pray for, nor how we should pray. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.” Romans 8:26

"Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you. He will never let the righteous fall.” Psalm 55:22

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.

Auntie Alison

My sister Alison came to town FINALLY to see her nephew. She was in town the day I went into labor and was able to see him the first 2 days of his life although, there were so many people at the hospital she didn't really get a chance to hold him.
She wasn't here for Christmas either so we opened up gifts Wednesday night. She got Nicholas his first golf set! (very tiny and very cute) she also got him his first bible and an ornament. Here are a few pictures of Nick and his Auntie Alison.

Nick's 1st Xmas at OneTrueMedia.com

Nicholas' First Christmas

On Christmas Eve we went to Juanita's house. Every year Chris' side of the family has a huge get together on Christmas Eve. This year was special for the obvious reason-it being Nick's 1st Christmas. It was also special this year because there are two other little ones who are now walking around, Landon and Kate.
Chris and I decided to try out what might become a tradition-of staying the night over there and waking up on Christmas day to open gifts with Nana-Nita! It was great. We woke up had biscuits and gravy and eggs and Coffee!!!! Nick did great too!!! We then go to my moms house for Christmas day! This was great too(besides the fact that we missed my sister and brother dearly)! My side of the family does a mexican theme for Christmas and my mom every year gives us a Nutcracker as a gift and it is always exciting to see which one she got us for the year! She also started a tradition for her grandkids(Nick is the 1st and only right now)a little german pickle ornament. She is going to get her grandchildren a pickle on their 1st Christmas and on Christmas morning they are supposed to find the pickle hidden on the Christmas tree and if they do find it they recieve an extra gift from Gramma!!!!
My Grandma also made Nick a stocking!!!! She made me and my siblings a stocking when we were little and it really meant so much to me that she made one for him!
We then went back to Juanita's house to see Andy, Steph and the girls to eat another dinner and open gifts-but before that we had to make one last stop!
My cousin Michael proposed to his girlfriend Mariah! Since they live near Juanita-we stopped by to congratulate them!
