Family Vacation 2017

We weren't able to make it to our usual spot (Rainbow Lake) for vacation this year, so we decided to take a mini vacay to Kansas City. 

Day One: We drove to Kansas City on Thursday afternoon and checked into the hotel! I'm sure that most people find it fun to stay at a hotel, for me, I ABSOLUTLY LOVE IT! Brings back so many memories. I didn't let Nick and Liv play hide and go seek through out the entire building but don't think I didn't spot all the good hiding places! We did take the back stairs and walk all 3 floors! Oh Yeah! We even made it to the pool, which was indoors and FREEZING-but we had it all to ourselves which added even more family fun! (Back to day one) we took the kids to Culvers for some hamburgers and fries and then to Legends and walked around-threw some coins in the fountain area and made some wishes. Then we went to T-Rex Cafe. They each got to Build a Dino there. Nick named his : Freckles Agent Toobles and Olivia named hers: Purpley White

*notice how Olivia is crossing her legs? this is because she likes to model ;-) you'll notice it a few times in this post. She always asked me if I noticed she crossed her legs!

Day Two: The next day we went down and ate breakfast at the hotel! Nick and Olivia LOVED this. In fact if you were to ask them what their favorite thing was about vacation this would be one of the first things they would say! After breakfast we went to Worlds of Fun. Oh My Goodness was it Worlds of Fun! Their favorite was the carousel and the scrambler. The weather was PERFECT. I still can't believe this weather we are having in August. We ended up arriving there at 10 and we stayed until 5:00.  Then we went swimming at the hotel and ordered in PIZZA- a hotel must!

On this ride and right after this picture was taken- Olivia leaned over to Chris and said: "Daddy, this is just the sweetest day."

Day Three: We woke up and went to breakfast downstairs again! Our next stop was Oak Park Mall! They have the Disney Store and American Girl Doll store there and another carousel-this time with two levels! The Disney Store this time though-didn't have much. Nick had been wanting a Storm Trooper Build a Bear for awhile though so we ended up taking him there since he didn't see anything from the Disney Store. We took Olivia to American Girl since she loves her baby dolls! A lot of her friends have the bity baby already so we decided to jump on that wagon! She wanted to name her Casey-Which we thought was perfect since she got her in K.C.
After the mall we went to visit Andy, Steph and the girls before heading home!

and this is the aftermath! Nick was wide awake when we got home and helped carry stuff in-Liv on the other hand, ZZzzzzz

Nick Lost His First Tooth

Nick lost his tooth last night! He had a loose tooth for about 2 weeks and we would have to remind him to wiggle it! He wanted to pull it out last night but it was still attached to the front wall of the gum, he was getting pretty tired so he just decided to go to bed and what happened? Yes, he ofcourse swallowed it in his sleep! 

He woke up and first thing went to look in the mirror, then looked around in his bed. His response when I told him that the tooth fairy will still know he lost his tooth was this:

"The tooth fairy can open my mouth when I am asleep and make the tooth float out of my body."

and Olivia immediately responds with: 

"Yep, that's why she has a wand!"
