Quiet Book # 2

Okay, it's not perfect but it is made with love. This is the 2nd quiet book I have made. The first one was for Saydee (my niece). This one is for Ethan, my cousin's son. I have never been one to go out and buy items that I could make at home (my scrapbook backgrounds were made out of gift bags, coloring pages etc.) So most of this was scrap fabric I had lying around the house! I think it turned out pretty good, just hope it holds up. I am sure Ethan will like it-Nick does!

Puzzle page it has 2 pockets on the right side to hold the puzzles.

the dark square on the right is where he can put the puzzle together. There is a football, soccerball and a basketball cut into fours.

Siblings

Siblings are a wonderful wonderful thing. I don't know what I would do without my brother and my sisters. I can only pray that Nicholas will have a brother or a sister to share memories with someday!

My Mama

Ali and I went to my moms the other day and found a box of pictures. I had such a great childhood and such a great mom. I look back at these photos and it makes me appreciate my mom and everything she was to us kids. We hung all over my mom, the same way Nicholas hangs all over me! If that doesn't tell you that you are loved by your kids, I am not sure what does!

1st Haircut

Nick's hair was getting a bit too long. So we took him to Chris' appt and asked her if she could squeeze Nick in her schedule!

It took him awhile to calm down.

But then he got a sucker and he was happy again!

Worlds of Fun

Friday night we took Nicholas over to Chris' mom's house. She watched him over night Friday and Saturday while Chris and I spent the weekend together.  We had a long weekend planned starting with Worlds of Fun, a Royals game, Nebraska Furniture Mart and lunch at Tanners!

Andy and Stephanie wanted to surprise Tatum and Ashlyn with a trip to Worlds of Fun and since we were going to be in town, they invited us to go with them. I had never been on a roller coaster and Chris had been wanting to take me for so long. I felt kind of bad leaving Nicholas to go to an amusement park but he is just too little to go and the fair is coming into town soon so I would like to see how he does on the kiddie rides there before taking him all the way to worlds of fun!
We had a blast though and it was nice to spend some time with the girls. Tatum made me ride the scary rides! The Sea Dragon....that was the scariest!

Fireworks!

I was expecting there to be a little more crying because my experience with little kids is that they are scared of the firecracker sounds. My kid just plays dead when he is scared though! You will see at the end of the video and most of my family has seen him play dead first hand!

5K # 3

I ran another 5K! I was interested in this one b/c it just seemed like FUN. It was called Cookie Daze and you could eat a cookie after each mile! I am not that into sweets, and I didn't have any, but I thought it was a fun idea! I am well into my 2nd week of "Insanity" (a workout program) and have seen some progress already! In August I am running in the Glow Run and can't wait to see the progress I intend to make from now until then!

Beginning of my 3rd 5K this year! I see some collar bones!

I finished at the same time as my last run. 33 minutes. I think that 11 minute miles are as fast as my little legs can take me!
