I was going through some photos and I ran across this one! I forgot about it and it happens to be one of my favorites!!!!!

Sunday January 9th Nick's First Snow Storm

Nicholas witnessed his first snow storm on Sunday January 9th-One day before his 3 month birthday!!! When there was quite a bit of snow on the ground I took him towards the window-he looked outside and then looked at me and smiled! It must have made him happy! I really wanted to bundle him up in his snow suit and take pictures of him and his first snow but we never made it outside (too cold) so I bundled him up and took this picture to document the special snow day!

To: My Amazing Family-I am so blessed to have you!

I was looking through some pictures that my older sister Katie has on facebook.

I saw some pictures I hadn't seen before and it made me want to tell everyone that I have the best family in the ENTIRE WORLD!
For those of you who do not know my family-Here are a couple of pictures of them!

My sisters were in town one weekend and we thought it would be fun to all go out to eat at the Anchor Inn in Hutchinson. I had been craving it for awhile and since I was pregnant I had the best excuse to travel 30 minutes to eat it!!!!
Alison and I were hanging out earlier that day and I told her to call my Aunt Susan and ask her if she and the boys wanted to meet us there along with my mom, Rex and my grandma. Alison said she would later but I insisted she call her right then-I even dialed Susan's number myself and gave Alison the phone to talk to her.

Later that evening-I (being a typical pregnant woman-and....well lets face it-a typical Amy) decided that I didn't want to go afterall. Chris then said-"we have to go...how often are your sisters in town?" so off we went!!!

We get to the Anchor Inn and order our favorite foods. My cousins David and Michael were there, my Grandma, Aunt Susan, Mom, Rex, and sisters Katie and Alison. After we were all through eating my sister Katie says:
"I really want some icecream does anyone else want icecream?"
Aunt Susan-" I have icecream at my house. Do you all want to come over there?"
Chris-"Do you want icecream Amy?"
Me-"Not really but if you want some we can just hit Dairy Queen on the way home."
Chris-"How often do you get to see your sisters lets just go over to your Aunts."
Me-"Okay"

When we get to the car I tell Chris the quickest way to get to my Aunts. Does he go that way??????-NO!!!!
When we finally do get there I tell him he can park in the drive way. Does he? NO!!!!
So we are the last ones in the house. I walk in and everyone is in there staring at me and says "SUPRISE!!!!" I think to myself "ha ha I am the last one here, I know" I then walk closer into the house and notice the table full of baby stuff!!!! My sisters called everyone and they planned a suprise baby shower for me!!!! I immediately started crying. It was so touching and made me feel so blessed to have the family that I have. My sisters made a huge diaper cake and got me so many baby clothes aswell and my Aunt, Cousins and Grandma. My mom and Rex and my Dad all got me the BIG item-my stroller/carseat combo!!!
(pictures are a little blurry)

Thank you for always being there for me!
Love you guys!

Inspiration

There are times that I wonder "is he really listening?" "Is God even real?"
I know that he is but sometimes I feel that I pray and pray for something and the complete opposite happens. Why is that? "Did he answer my prayer and has another way of "helping" the situation or did the advesary answer my prayer instead?"
It is hard to explain "believing" or "having faith" when we were little my mom used to explain it like this:

Mom-"If you had a flat tire on your bicycle and you asked Grandpa if he could fix it....you would give your bike to him right?.....you would trust that he would fix it b/c he said he would right? and you wouldn't give it a second thought right?"

Me- "yes."

Mom-"Well, when you ask God for something then you need to "give" him that problem and trust that he will fix it...you need to let it go and let him handle it. If you don't give your bike to Grandpa then he can't fix it and if you don't give your problem to God then he won't be able to fix it either."

I have read these scriptures over the past few months and have thought a lot about them. I know that everything is going to be okay in my life and in the lives of my family members. I just thought I would share them with everyone else too.

“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress. For we don’t even know what we should pray for, nor how we should pray. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.” Romans 8:26

"Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you. He will never let the righteous fall.” Psalm 55:22

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.

Auntie Alison

My sister Alison came to town FINALLY to see her nephew. She was in town the day I went into labor and was able to see him the first 2 days of his life although, there were so many people at the hospital she didn't really get a chance to hold him.
She wasn't here for Christmas either so we opened up gifts Wednesday night. She got Nicholas his first golf set! (very tiny and very cute) she also got him his first bible and an ornament. Here are a few pictures of Nick and his Auntie Alison.
